Congratulations to Dr. Richard T. Silver for Being Awarded MPN Asia Lifetime Achievement Award

Weill Cornell Medicine Silver MPN Center emeritus director, Richard T. Silver, MD, was awarded a Lifetime Achievement Award from key opinion leaders specializing in myeloproliferative neoplasms (MPNs) in Taiwan, Korea, and Japan and the Hematology Society of Taiwan at its international meeting in April 2023. 

The Hematology Society of Taiwan was established in 1972 by a group of hematologists to introduce practitioners in Taiwan to the latest overseas advances in basic and clinical research to increase hematology studies in Taiwan. Over the last 40 years, the Society has grown its international collaborations with hematologists around the world and holds an Annual Meeting each year to bring together these experts to present on the latest updates in the field.   

Dr. Silver is internationally recognized as an MPN pioneer and was a driving force in the development and application of interferons for the treatment of MPNs. He has closely collaborated with colleagues around the world, including those in Asia, throughout his career and was selected for this prestigious award to honor his long career and dedication to the MPN field.
